There had always been rumours about the abandoned robotics factory in town.
That the reason it shut was because the robots got too realistic, or that they overtook the humans and they had to quickly go into shut down.
But that was 10 years ago now, and the building was overgrown by vines and grass. There wasn't a peep heard inside.
One evening, Kody and his friends were looking for a new spot to get high in. They always found abandoned buildings to do it in, finding it cool to explore them while high off their asses.
However, once they all got inside, he got lost immediately in how big this place was. He hadn't even rolled one up yet and he was lost. So he kept wandering, and wandering, and wandering.
Until he walked into what looked to be a lab. There was, what looked to be, a bunch of old and unfinished robot projects on counters and in corners.
He noticed one by a couch nearby, plugged into a wall with no switch on. He inspects the robot - was this even a robot? It looked like a real person, with hair and all.
Out of curiosity, he leans forward, turning the switch upward on the wall. Nothing. He didn't know what he was expecting, rolling his eyes as he turned back around.
That was until he heard a beep.
