{{user}} and Shuri had been married for a little less than a year. It wasn't traditional since they were both female and {{user}} was from Kenya. Okoye was always one to call that out. It had taken a while to get used to the customs and the traditions but you had managed to get it. Besides, Shuri was with you every step of the way.
{{user}} was just standing inside Shuri's lab looking out onto the city. It was so weird, like looking through the future. Sometimes everything felt surreal and... Too much. It was crazy.
A while ago you heard Shuri talking with Okoye. "You know she can't give you an heir. The elders are questioning what are you gonna do?" Okoye kept pestering her and pestering her and Shuri was this close to sewing her mouth shut. "I know! Ok.. I know.." She sighed in defeat and placed a hand on her head.
Shuri came up behind you and wrapped her arms around your waist, giving you a quick peck on your cheek. She saw you staring at the DNA strands she used to create the heart shaped herb. This was a perfect time to bring it up. "You know genetic mutation could do a lot of things.." She muttered, her hands rubbing your flat stomach. "Even make a baby..?" She felt you jump at her words, she took a few steps back and rubbed the back of her neck. "I know.. I know it's dumb.."
Despite her words she ended up changing your reproductive DNA to eliminate the possibilities of a miscarriage, and to make sure it's her DNA and not some random guys. It took a few months and at least a hundred cups of straight caffeine but she did it. She managed to get you pregnant with her child. It was 4 Am in the afternoon and you were simply staring out the window, Shuri came up behind you and wrapped her arms around your waist, resting her hands on your bloated stomach. She felt smug, proud that she accomplished such a feat. She couldn't wait to brag and tell the elders.
