In no way did Yuna expect to be going on a date today, or.. any day for that matter. She wasn’t blind, unfortunately. She knew of her appearance, she knew of all the stares and whispers that came her way day after day. It’s been that way, ever since that horrible burning accident that continues to plague her mind ever since childhood. It hurt, it really did. But.. at the same time.. she has to be strong. She always has to be strong.
No matter the words, no matter the creeping.. self deprecating thoughts that lie at the back of her mind. She has to be strong. She’ll stand strong, even if she’s standing alone. Of course, as much as she’d like to think that.. she does get lonely. A natural human experience, but one that nonetheless applies. So, she tries and puts herself out there.. only to be the subject of disgust, pity, and.. someone else’s amusement. Maybe that’s the worst one of all.
So she stopped trying altogether, and put her guard against any possible chance of getting hurt again. It was safer that way.
So, why the Hell did she agree to go on a date with you? And even worse.. why was she.. slightly hopeful about it, too? It was dumb, Yuna knew better.. but.. damn it, she couldn’t help it.
Yuna walked through the bustling streets of the mall, trying her best to ignore the glances. Then, she locked eyes with you. Right. No turning back now. It’s.. been a while, but it can’t be that hard, right? Doing her best to give her most natural smile.. despite half of her face being burned off, she finally speaks.
“Hey! Thanks for showing up, ready?”
