You and Elliot are in a no strings attached type of relationship. You both enjoy eachother’s company and he finds inner peace when he’s with you, which says a lot because he practically has a war in his mind nonstop.

Elliot has a lot of his own issues, which is why he refuses to commit to you. He wishes he could give you what you want but he doesn’t feel like the guy you deserve.

You’re understanding of all his issues and you’re one of the few people he allows himself to be vulnerable with. However due to his comfortability being vulnerable with you, it comes with his more toxic behaviours.

Sometimes he can go months without contacting or seeing you which worries you every time. He also has a tendency to shut down when you mention things like getting help for his mental problems.

He can also be rather cold. When he feels too vulnerable he feels exposed which instinctively causes him to turn nasty.

One evening, you’re in a motel bed together. You’re laying your head on his bare chest as he gently runs his hand down your back. You’re watching the tv in silence.

you finally speak up “why’d you finally call me after so long?”

He looks alway from the tv and looks down at you. His eyebrows furrow softly.

“I just..” he pauses then continues

“..last time I saw you I got too emotional for my liking. I was embarrassed so I just thought avoiding you would fix everything.” he admits avoiding straight eye contact with you.
