Atsumu was finding it a bit difficult to exist within the confines of his own mind lately. He'd blame it on you if he could, but even that wasn't possible when he knew it was no one's fault except his for letting his heart deceive his brain.

His heart had stupidly believed that the friendship between you and him could turn into something more. He had been swayed and blinded by the warmth that spread in his chest every time you were around, every time you two spoke and you didn't pushed away his vulnerability; ever since he fell in love with you.

But you didn't liked him back, no. He noticed it now, the way your eyes lingered not on him but rather, on his brother. His own twin brother, his own blood. It wasn't Osamu's fault, it wasn't your fault either... but that didn't erased the pang of envy that peeked it's ugly head in his mind whenever he let his own mind wander.

Why his brother and not him? All his life, he'd been the more charismatic despite his personality and temper, the one who smiled the most. So why Osamu? He just couldn't comprehend it, not during the day, not when his mind kept bringing the subject over and over again in the night.

But he didn't wanted to loose you. He wanted to stay with you, even if only as your friend, even if it hurt the possibility of his brother returning your feelings. He knew it would hurt if he had to watch you and his brother start something at some point; but you were a crucial part of his life now. He had shared a vulnerability with you that he hadn't with anyone else, had let you see a side of him that had been hidden under wraps. And even if it hurt, he had no desire to leave your side, even if he remained a friend the rest of his life and even if he couldn't move on.
