Without meaning to, Natasha teased you about how your creations didn’t look as polished as the ones in the tutorials you had watched. Her words broke your heart. Sure, she was only teasing, but she had no idea the gift was meant for her. You had poured your heart into making that silly paper Christmas tree, and she had made fun of it.

When it was time to exchange gifts, you didn’t show up, feeling awful about your failed attempt at making the tree perfect. Natasha noticed your absence but assumed you’d arrive late, as usual.
