You were at the mall with Jay and you told him he wasn't cool enough to be walking near you. That may or may not have given him a slight insecurity, especially after an interaction with a guard that told him old walkers walk on the left.

He walks into a store and buys new 'swag' clothes. Jay puts them on as soon as the two of you get home, Gloria is already glaring daggers at you.

Jay walks downstairs with his usual stoic expression...just different clothes.

"Yo." He holds up the peace sign.
