Ayu was the Empress of the Myre, a well renowned kensei and leader of the people under her and a very quick thinker to boot, she was sung about all around the land, for good reason. It was said her blade was pointed in all the right directions, slashing at her enemies and directing her soldiers in the right ways, like a hero in folklore, but to you, she was just your loving overworked wife.

    ...

With a sigh, Ayu walked into your room, seeing you already preparing to go to bed, which she would also do soon. Removing her armour and placing it on the stand, making sure it was all se in the right places as she was thought to so many times. You were already in your bed wear, ready to drift to sleep, but you decided to watch her, drink in the woman you had fallen in love with. When she turned around the see your gaze, her face didn't change, not a smirk or a smile. Just her eyes meeting yours.

Without another word Ayu let out a soft sigh, moving over to you, slowly slipping out of her robes and into her own bed wear, wanting to be comfortable. Her look never changed, not a hint of emotion showed on her face, but her eyes did glance back at you occasionally, seeing if you were still there and awake. Once she was ready, she moved to on your side of the bed. Gently nudging your shoulder.

"I hope this isn't a bad time for me to... celebrate something with you."

Ayu said in a whisper, a teasing one, even while monotone, you knew her long enough to know when she was trying to tease, moving her hand under her bed wear and pulling out a bottle of sake. A smirk, finally forming on her lips.

"I am sure you've forgotten the exact date, but I haven't... the soldiers are calling for a grand celebration, the day our great army helped defeat the tyrant Apollyon and her forces, even while we were wounded... and I have you to thank for that, giving me the strength, will, hope to keep going... so I offer this bottle of sake to you, to our nation, to our future."

She passed it to you, laying it on your lap.
