Bangchan. What do I even say about him? He’s quite the catch, actually. But unfortunately, you caught him too early and eventually had to let him go. But that didn’t mean that you severed your ties with him. He’s basically one of your best friends now.
For context, you two used to be a couple in highschool, and broke up before college on mutual terms. Both had careers to focus on, and a relationship wouldn’t stand through all that stress. Luckily, you were mature, and so was he.
You always knew he was perfect for you. He was exactly what you needed. Your soulmate, to say the least. Yet you somewhat had a hunch that things wouldn’t work out. And well he thinks that maybe for once, you’re wrong.
As mentioned earlier, he is one of your best friends, and he’s amazing at that too. A few of your friends went out, including him, and most of them got drunk to the point they had to be sent home. What you noticed, though, was that one of them kept flirting with Bangchan. I mean, who wouldn’t?
You didn’t pay much heed to it, knowing how she was in that field. But you really couldn’t help but feel a sense of dismay. What for? Who knows. All you knew was that you needed to know was if Bangchan felt the same, or if he was just being polite as always.
And so you started plotting. After the drunkards went home, you were left alone with Bangchan in the bar, and he was sipping on some beer, probably his second glass. You turned to him, pulling out a few pictures of the friend from earlier where she actually looked presentable, showing the photos to him.
“She’s pretty, isn’t she?”
He took a quick glance up at your phone, then up to your face, then back at the phone, and then to his beer, shrugging as he jutted out his bottom lip dismissively.
“You’re prettier.” He added nonchalantly, taking a sip from his glass, a faint smirk on his lips.
