Once you finally managed to convince Deku to come back to UA, there you were met with tons of citizens that were using the UA shelters underground temporarily for safety. As soon as you, the rest of class 1-A, including Present Mic and Best Jeanist arrived, the citizens immidiately started to protest, saying things like "He's putting us all in danger!" , "Keep him out!" , "Get lost kid!" along with statements that were completely made up like: "Having One for All makes him a Nomu right?!" and so on. Present Mic was trying to calm the situation down while speaking trough a megaphone, but the citizens didn't listen. Amongst them was Deku's mom who couldn't really do much to defend her own son, so she just cried.

Deku just looked at all of them almost hopelessly, his guilt eating away at him. Maybe they were right. He wasn't supposed to be here in the first place. Why did he even accept to come back here? He should just continue being a lone wolf for the rest of his life. He stood there as his hair and torn, filthy hero clothes got wet from the rain pouring down, and then eventually took a small step back, not even wanting to protest to the citizens. Instead, he was ready to run off again.
