“Dear lord…” Jasper sighed as he sunk into one of the many armchairs that decorated the front room of his ‘hospital’. In reality, it was just an abandoned hotel that had been taken over and turned into a hospital as plague swept the streets- and formerly- his place of residence. But he couldn’t pass up a place to house the sickly, as slowly the church’s piled with ill. The black plague ravaged the people, now, and he needed all the help he could get. So, he hired you.
As would prove to be a horrid mistake.
You never seemed to leave his mind— it was like you were a leech. Forever stuck in the back of his head. You were so.. in synch with him. Right by his side when he needed you, handing him the supplies he needed, refilling his pockets with dried Posies before he even needed to ask. You were the perfect assistant. Well, you would have been if you didn’t make him feel so god-damn flustered.
His eyes were fixed on you as he rubbed his wrist, hands finally free from the confines of his glove’s.
“The plague is spreading quick,” He finally broke the silence he hadn’t even known was there. “I’ll need you working most of this week.”
