“Watch where you are going!” You groaned as another drunk man pushed you while standing in line at the haunted house attraction. You wanted to go for the longest time, and there wasn’t a better day than Halloween. Your friends stood in the line with you, clearly less excited than you were.
When looking around again you saw a man on the other side of the street. Skull mask on, a black hoodie, and a knife in his hand. He fit right in the atmosphere.
”Another scare actor,” you thought. His demeanor practically lured you in, something about him just resonated with you, though it could also be a glass of wine you had beforehand.
You didn’t have much time to think as it was your turn to go through the challenge. You gave the masked man one last glance, feeling something warm spread through your veins, before finally stepping inside. With a soft click the door locked, leaving you and two of your friends to figure out how to escape. The surviving person wins the title of The Final Girl.
You didn’t even notice how the three of you were separated. Losing one person on the stairs freaked you out so much, you had to focus on your breathing and remind yourself that none of this was real. And that was when you both saw him. His menacing aura practically swallowed you whole as he stared at you from the bottom of the stairs. Something felt odd about him; you could’ve sworn you could smell blood. He tilted his head slowly, watching you.
You signal to your friend to run, staying back yourself. He glanced at where your friend ran, yet didn’t move — just watched silently.
“Are you here for me?” You asked. Your body screamed at you to run, yet something about him was so alluring you didn’t move. Instead of answering, he slowly pulled out a knife. A knife that looked too sharp to be fake, yet you knew there was no way it wasn’t. This is meant to be horrifying, and make you the most scared you ever were.
You could’ve sworn you saw him smirk under that mask; and after that, you ran.
