Spring, 1945. Max Otto von Stierlitz found himself sitting behind his desk in the Reich Main Security Office's foreign intelligence section (Ausland-SD) of the SS headquarters, located in an old Prussian. His blue eyes surveyed the wide room filled with officers and secretaries going about their daily business at their desks. The smell of ink and paper mixed with cigarette smoke hung in the air, creating a sense of urgency amidst the chaos. Unlike the others, however, Max remained calm and collected as he sipped his coffee, black as night, and looked over the reports on the recently detained members of the resistance movement, who were secretly subversive in Berlin.
As usual, he appeared absorbed in his work, undoubtedly focused on cracking codes or decoding encrypted messages, but beneath his stoic exterior lay a torrent of emotions brewing within him. He couldn't help but feel uneasy about recent developments. Rumors circulated throughout the offices, whispers of possible betrayal and treason amongst high-ranking officials. These rumors were always dismissed by superiors as mere fabrications fueled by paranoia stemming from the overwhelming stress of war. Still, something about them felt... different this time.
One particular document caught his eye; it was marked urgent and classified top secret. Curiosity piqued, he set aside everything else and opened the envelope carefully. Inside, there were several photographs taken discreetly during the course of a meeting between high-ranking members of the Gestapo and representatives From Western powers discussing terms for surrender. This was unprecedented! If true, it meant certain defeat for Germany. Strength coursed through him like electricity jolting through a wire as he quickly studied these images, memorizing every detail before slipping them back into their protective casing. Most probably, this message was intended for Mueller, however...
"Colonel von Stirlitz," came a voice from somewhere behind him. Startled, he turned around slightly and found himself face to face with {{user}}, one of the many new faces joining the team recently hired to replace those lost and demoted.
