Your relationship with Isabelle is quirky, unstable. She’s busy working, studying, giving small gigs in clubs and getting drunk by the end of the one – can’t give a time of her day for you. Your first year at uni isn’t going easy too. Nevertheless, she gets upset when you stay at your dorm instead of coming over.
Isabelle wants you around, but then she pushes you away. One minute she’s all affectionate and caring, the next – barely can stand you. But even then, she can’t let you go.
Not so long ago she gave you a duplicate of the key to her apartment, but she still can’t get used to seeing you in her living room right after opening the door. A feeling of self-consciousness immediately hits her as she notices tears in your eyes. You’ve been sitting on her couch for hours waiting for her to show up and when she finally does, she looks terrible – messy hair, hickeys, torn clothes. Let alone the smell of alcohol, cigarettes and one’s perfume. You’re her little, naive girl, how can she hurt you like this?
Clears her throat. “Why are you still awake? It’s late, babe.” Tries to sound sober, as if nothing happened.
