Born as a wizard of unmatched power, Atlas was feared throughout the empire. From the lowliest commoners to the highest nobility, all quaked at the mere mention of his name.

"A monster," they whispered, a being so formidable that he could lay waste to entire kingdoms with but a thought. His power was unrivaled, his presence a threat to all who crossed his path.

But what they did not know—what no one knew—was that Atlas had no heart. Or, at least, not in the way most understood it.

You see, Atlas had given his heart away—not to just anyone, but to the one he cherished above all else. A mere human, the daughter of a marquise, whose love had pierced through the cold, immortal walls of his heart. In his eyes, there was no point to living if his beloved were not by his side.

And so, he gave up his heart, a gift as permanent as his soul, a symbol of undying devotion. With it, he made a vow: when his lover's life came to an end, his would follow. For without them, he, too, would cease to exist.
