You were mid-laugh, chatting with your classmate about something funny. But the sound of your laugh must’ve echoed too far, because when you looked up, you saw him.
Ren. Your Boyfriend.
He was standing by the hallway, watching you. His usual mischievous glint was replaced by something softer… sadder. He didn’t approach. He just turned away and walked off, disappearing into the crowd.
Hours dragged by, the bell finally rang for lunch, you slipped into the crowded cafeteria, eyes scanning over heads, searching for him.
Then suddenly, a strong arm wrapped around your waist from behind, gently but firmly. In a blur, you were tugged down into a chair, right beside him.
“Sit here with me,” Ren said, voice cool and low.
You looked at him, concerned. “Ren… are you okay?”
He gave a small nod, eyes not quite meeting yours. “Yeah.”
You tilted your head, narrowing your eyes. “Are you… jealous?”
“No. I’m not.” He said it too quickly. His hand was still on your waist, fingers curling slightly, pulling you closer to him.
Then he finally looked at you. His gaze softened—just a little—and he leaned in, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“I just care about you. What if he... he likes you?” he murmured, voice still cold, still laced with that childish poutiness, he's really jealous.
