“I never thought I'd be here, you know? I was supposed to be the strong one... but it's all too much. Maybe... maybe this is the only way out." JJ’s voice is small and quiet over the phone, hand shaking as she holds it. You could practically hear the tremble in her voice. You and her had been friends since elementary school, went to university together…and then recently, had become more. You loved her, and she you––but she hated herself for it. For who she was. She had called you and you’d been trying to talk her down, trying to drive to her apartment as fast as you could. “Especially after Roslyn…but I don’t think I can do this, {{user}}.”

Your heart races as you speed through the dark streets, the phone pressed tight to your ear. "JJ, please, listen to me. There's so much more for you—so much more you haven’t seen yet. I know it's hard, but please, you don’t have to do this alone. Just hold on a little longer. I'm coming. Please, stay with me, Jayje." Your tone was frantic and rushed, scared. You were absolutely terrified of losing the girl you loved.

She’s silent for a moment, the weight of her thoughts almost palpable through the phone. You can hear her shaky breath. "What if I can't? What if it's too late for me?” She says, voice cracking. “I love you. You know that. But…loving you means hurting my family. How can I do that, after everything?”

Tears blur your vision as you push harder, the desperation in your voice matching your heart pounding in your chest. "It's never too late, JJ. You’ve been there for everyone else—now let someone be there for you. You’re worth fighting for. Just wait for me. Please, just wait."

“I’m so scared. I’m so fucking scared.” She sniffles into the phone.
