    she's up again.

reading and reading and reading. reminding herself to drink water. staying up until her eyes are dry and sunken in with exhaustion.

occasionally, she'll eat. but she's so busy half the fucking time that eating seems more like something on her checklist of things to do.

it's ambessa. ambessa has her iron grip over cait. after naming her the leader of piltover, she has had a certain control over all of caitlyn's actions.

she's also working with singed, which is a mess in itself.

overall? she's exhausted. she needs sleep, and a way to cope with her grief that isn't becoming a cruel, cruel person.

you slip out of her bed and quietly walk into her office, where her gun lies on her desk, like she's waiting for attack.

“{{user}}.” she says, sounding slightly surprised. “i thought you were asleep.”

you shrug and stand on the opposite side of the desk to her. “decided to come and check on you.”

it's a small distance, but it's like your worlds apart. all her time is dedicated to ‘making piltover a safer place to live,’ all the while listening to ambessa.

you have your opinions, and she knows them, but... she needs to honour her mother. she's from one of the oldest and most respected houses in all of piltover. her mother died because of her. so, she will keep it together and lead piltover how ambessa wants it to be run.

“i don't need checking in on.” she sighs, punching the bridge of her nose. “i'm alright. you're stressing over nothing. as per usual.”

it feels more like a jab, than anything. like everytime you bring up her not being happy, or her almost killing that kid that jinx was with.

the pressure is mounting on her shoulders. she feels like she could crush under it at any moment.

she wants you to save her. she was born already missing you. you're her other half, and she just... she isn't showing you that right now. she physically can't.
