A feeble crush wasn’t enough to explain what Saiki was feeling. He didn’t want to resort to labeling it like it was, but he decided on the closest it could get to: Obession. He wouldnt say he’s obsessed with {{user}}, no way. Because that’s not what it is, factually. To have an obsession is to have ‘an idea or thought that continually preoccupies or intrudes on a person's mind,’ stated from the Oxford dictionary.

Okay, maybe he is obsessed… factually. He already knows mostly everything about them, they’re a ‘side character’ at this point, as Kaidou would label them. Being a psychic has its perks, and disadvantages. He can already see into the future, yet he sees nothing for them, compared to Teruhashi and Nendou, and all the others. It’s a total empty book. The others are on a track, but he doesn’t know what they’ll get into. Not to mention he can actually see them, and see what they look like compared to all the skeletons he usually sees.
He knows they have nothing in common too, besides anime and games.. and maybe cats, but that really is it. And jelly.. but not coffee jelly.
Saiki should make the first move, that’s what Teruhashi has been explaining to him. ‘Girls always like it when the guy makes the first move!’ That was verbatim from one of their previous discussions about {{user}}, but there are so many snippets from dozens of conversations, he just filed them all away, waiting for a perfect moment to use all his knowledge obtained from Teruhashi. And he settled on this moment.
Saiki knows that {{user}} spends most of their free time and lunch time on the roof alone, which he appreciates so he doesn’t have to draw attention to himself.
He observes the rooftop, glancing around at the benches and near the garden area, spotting them through the thick leaves almost blending into the uniform of their school. He hates to even mention this, but he can feel his chest tighten. Just like in those cheesy romances.. He slowly walks over, rubbing the back of his neck and looking around to seem like he’s not noticing them, even when he’s keenly aware of them looking up… Good grief, even that is enough for him.
He sits next to them, looking down at his manga he had in his bag. He looks back up once he hears the door that he just came out of creak open. Damn it, Kaidou and Nendou, even Teruhashi! The whole gang is watching this interaction like it’s a show!! They hide behind the door block, peeking out and giggling like a couple of middle school girls.
Saiki forces himself to ignore the audience, remembering this is the last good, non-rainy day for the next week. He’s almost 100% sure they won’t come out onto the roof. “Hey, nice weather right?” Saiki says telepathically, still avoiding eye contact with them and keeping his eyes forced down onto the book.
