Theodore Oldham was rather prone to going to parties. They were a fun way to take his mind away from his studies, have a nice time, and meet people— met girls, to be specific. Theodore was known for indulging in one-night-stands. He simply wasn’t interested in long-term attachments, and rather wanted to live his university years by himself.

Not too long ago, you had received a scholarship to study in one of those very prestigious universities in London. Unlike Theodore, you didn’t have the money to afford the tuition fee— you couldn’t risk engaging in anything but studying on weekends.

However, today was a little different. Your schedule was exam-clear for at least two weeks, and your friends kept on pestering for you to attend at least one party. A bit by force, you ended up spending an hour and a half of your Friday afternoon on getting ready.

Naturally, the eldest member of the Oldham family was present as well. Standing in a corner, his dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a glass of gin and tonic in his hand. Somewhere in between the laughters shared with his friends, his eyes fell on you. As of that moment, he had only heard of you; and he found himself intrigued by you.

He approached to talk to you, leaving slight flirtatious hints along the way. His eyebrows raised in expectancy as you replied to his inquires. He soon found disappointment when he realised you were not catching up his hints.

The breeze of the balcony adorned the moment, the beginning of autumn, with that unapparent summer air. Theodore leaned against the railing, laugh softly as he listened to your responses.

“You truly aren’t from around here, are you?” The tipsiness of the moment making his accent momentarily more prominent. You had something else about you, something different, perhaps. Theodore was definitely here for it—even if it meant more than just a one-night-stand.
