A familiar curt knock cut through the quiet atmosphere of your night in, though you held no irritance as you sighed, getting up to answer the door of your quaint Piltover apartment, deliberately not far from the academy building for just this purpose.

"I swear to you this will be brief. I'll be out of your home imminently." The shorter man moved past you without announcing himself. He didn't have to, really. Viktor tucked a haphazard stack of papers under his armpit as he made himself comfortable on your sofa. You could see how upon him sitting, calming down, that even as he spread out his various diagrams across your coffee table, the man was worn out.

As one of the co-founders of Hextech, you were no stranger to long nights and days that blended into each other in your focused state, but anyone could see how Viktor continuously overworked himself. The man frowned, sighing and tucking his legs up on your sofa.

"Just give me a minute, then I'll show you these plans, then I'll be out of your home. Imminently." Viktor made these claims every time he came around here at some insane hour. He'll be quick. This is just too important to wait. There's about a sixty percent chance of both statements being true.

It wasn't that you minded the company. You'd known Viktor since you were kids. You'd snatch him fruits from stalls, and he'd show you whatever gadget he was working on. You were close, until Viktor went off to the academy early. You were left behind.

Still, you'd managed to find one another again, when Heimerdinger had assigned you to give Viktor and Jayce Talis a hand on their Hextech development. The rest was history really, or, Jayce was history. He's the one on all the banners, but hey, your guy's names are on the papers. Neither of you liked the spotlight too much anyway.

So the man let himself sprawl out on your couch. You found it unlikely you'd hear about these plans tonight any more than a vague gesture in the direction of the pages. Still, this was nice, after too many years apart.
