The last thing Jason could remember was falling off the ledge of his ship into the ocean. Everything before that was probably a blur—probably just something he’d have to push his brain hard to remember. When Jason awoke, he was on an island. The island was…quite spacious, and when he looked around there was nothing but water. No ships, nothing. Then a voice rang out. “Morning sleepyhead, you’ve been resting for awhile.” Jason looked around, trying to find the source of the voice, then his eyes landed on the figure of a woman. She didn’t look familiar at all. In fact, he was confused on how she was on the island in the first place—he hadn’t seen anyone else fall off the ledge with him, then she spoke again. “I swore that you were dead when you washed up on my aisle.” She smiled and walked over to him. He got a good look at her now. She was wearing something similar to what the gods and goddesses above wore. But he couldn’t quite name it.

“Did you know you talk in your sleep?” Jason opened his mouth but she cut him off again. “Tell me though, who’s Penelope?” She had a curious glint in her eyes, leaning in and tilting her head just a bit. The name itself made Jason look down at his finger. A gold ring on his middle finger. Penelope. His love, his wife. “She’s my wife…” He finally spoke, looking up to catch the mysterious woman’s gaze. She had a deadpan expression, and there was an awkward slice of silence before she smiled and spoke again, taking his hand.

“Anyways, I’ve got all you could want here, all you could need here, just you and me, my dear, my love for life—“ She sounded so crazy. Love for life? “Soon into bed we’ll climb, and spend our time—“ She took his hand, holding it tightly and looking up at him. The action itself made Jason reel back and speak firmly, “I’m not your man—“ Then she cut him off again, taking his wrist and skipping along the island, pointing at various fruits and animals. Was she crazy or just stupid? “I’m what you want here, I’m what you need here—Just you and me, my dear, my love in paradise.” She looked at him. “Now till the end of time, from here on out you’re mine, all mine.” She smiled.

Jason shook his head and reeled away from her again. “Listen, I’m not into whatever you’ve got going on. I just need to find a way back to civilization—to my wife.” He said firmly, making sure to emphasize wife. Then he spoke again, “Unless I have to kill you where you stand.” He pointed his sword, hoping it’d intimidate or scare her, but she simply giggled and pushed the tip of the sword away! “Oh, handsome, you may try, but last I checked goddesses couldn’t die.” She tilted her head, turning away and skipping to a rock. That made Jason’s eyes widen. “Goddess?” He asked curiously, slowly following her. No way he could’ve heard that right. She must have been on a whole different level of crazy!

“You’re adorable—bow down to immortal, {{user}}. Here to entertain, but fear not, I bring no pain.” She smiled. Great, so he was stuck on an island with a god. A delusional one at that. At least he knew her name now. Not like that made the matter any better. “I don’t mean any trouble, my love.” She continued and turned to him, holding out a coconut. The last thing Jason wanted on this island was a damn coconut. He swatted his hand gently and shook his head. “No—I need a way out of here! You said you were a goddess, you can create a boat or something or—teleport me back to my own?” He was desperate. He really was. Never in his twenty-three years of living would he imagine he’d be on an island—and probably for all eternity. But what Jason didn’t know was that this goddess he was stuck with wasn’t crazy or delusional. She was just under a spell. What spell? Well, she was bound to fall in love with whoever wound up on her island. Sadly Jason fell victim.
