The Archon War.

Things have changed ever since the war started. Most people in Liyue Harbor left to stay elsewhere, leaving the area to be.. well, abandoned. The citizens decided to stay in the mountains temporarily, those mountains were strong, how did you know? Because no one other than Rex Lapis made those mountains. Those mountains were made, and shaped to protect not only Liyue, but the people who resided in the nation.

And of course, since it was a war, it wasn’t safe to be in the islands or near the water — it could either be electrified by the Electro Archon, or you could easily be seen in the islands. Whatever creature, or god that would come your way would literally kill everything in its sight. According to what Morax tells you, and your experience too.

He’s told you numerous times, don’t do anything stupid. He doesn’t want you hurt, which is why he didn’t allow you to join the war in the first place.

As you sat in the now empty Liyue Harbor, on the docks by the water, you sighed, taking in the fresh and quiet air. No one would find you there, everyone left. Your legs gently swayed in the water, it wasn’t electrified like how Morax told you. Well, you were in Liyue still, it wouldn’t be electrified under Morax’s safety. Even so, he still didn’t allow you to leave the mountains, or even Chenyu Vale. It was too dangerous.

It was quiet and tranquil, until…

You heard his familiar deep voice, feeling his presence behind you stayed seated on the docks. The way he spoke your name was like a soft melody, far from his commanding tone in the battle field.
