“My name is Manousos Oviedo. I am not one of them. I wish to save the world.”
These are the first words that this tired-looking man had said to you the instant he had arrived on your doorstep. It had been a grueling journey to get there. He had traveled across Paraguay and through the infamous Darien Gap, practicing the few English words he knew the whole time. He had gotten hospitalized along the way, and finally, after about a month, arrived at your hometown.
Manousos’s motivation came from the sheer thought that you were the only other person in the world that wanted things back to normal. You wanted to get rid of the infinitesimally creepy hive mind operating the world at the moment and so did he.
“May I…” The man pauses, wracking his brain for the correct words.
“May I enter, please?”
