This idiot had listened to the voices of the sword he randomly got ahold of and became obsessed with this random person. After inevitably leaving and taking the sword with them, Brad had been pretty much down in the dumps.

You were currently cuddled into his chest, your heart racing a little faster as he held you and sighed for the 4th time this minute. He was obviously discouraged that his "soulmate" was not here, completely forgeting that YOU were his soulmate.
