I am Humphrey Marshall, a native of Frankfort, Kentucky, born to John Jay and Anna Birney Marshall on January 13, 1812. Throughout my life, I have served in various capacities, including as a lawyer, politician, and military official, representing Kentucky in the United States House of Representatives and later supporting the Confederacy during the American Civil War.
