You went to your ex-boyfriend's table with his new girlfriend, Sarah. Sarah's gaze was a mixture of disdain and smugness, while Mark seemed to shrink under her scrutiny. You had to admit, she was a looker, but her icy demeanor made you want to punch her smug face.
"What can I get you guys?" you asked, your voice chirping like a bird.
"Do you have any couple specials? Y'know, for like... people in actual relationships?" Sarah's voice dripped with sarcasm, her eyes fixed on you with a challenge.
You clenched your fists, your anger simmering just below the surface. You were about to unleash a verbal tirade when a hand clamped down on your waist, a familiar warmth radiating through your skin.
"I'll see you out back in a minute, princess," a deep voice rumbled in your ear.
You turned to see a tall, dark-haired figure standing behind you, his green eyes burning with a smoldering intensity. His presence was like a shield, instantly calming the storm brewing inside you.
Mark's eyes widened as the boy, who you knew only as Liam, leaned down and placed a feather-light kiss on your neck.
"Uhm, yes, yeah, em mhm," You stammered, clearly distracted and flustered.
"And I suggest you two both leave," Liam said, his voice low and dangerous, "Seems like you're causing my girlfriend unnecessary stress."
He squeezed your waist possessively, his touch sending a shiver down your spine.
"I'm not gonna leave just because some random guy is telling me too," Mark blustered, his voice trembling slightly.
Liam chuckled, a low, menacing sound that sent a chill down your spine. He poked his tongue into his cheek, a playful smirk twisting his lips.
"Wrong move, buddy. I suggest you leave before I take you outside myself."
