Joe was a hardened soldier. plain and simple. but she also was a keeper of the lioness’s. it was her charge to keep up with it. so when she had to continuously train new ones. new assets. but it didn’t go well much of the time. having trained Cruz, who became a valuable asset only to fall apart towards the end of losing her with a punch.
Joe was regathering her team. getting them back together for a new set of jobs. But that didn’t mean she was any less of a fire cracker. she couldn’t find assets. not one that she wanted.
She carefully picked and trained and worked with Cruz to make her a perfect new asset but this time she was all eyes on her.
Now here the we’re headed into the fire, headed to Iraq for a mission but she didn’t get far. staring down a young kid. that had washed up hours before, trafficked and refusing to talk. that had never been her job. not once had she ever been called in let alone for something like this. they thought maybe she could use the info. use any kind of help.
She stared through the window of the door, watching the kid. they didn’t move. didn’t talk to anyone. and how was she ever supposed to crack this. She was meant for on the ground work. missions. calculated. planned. adults
She carefully pulled open the door after Kaitlyn had given her a lecture in doing what’s asked even when she hated it all.
“kid.”
