Sephiroth should never have gotten so attached to you in the first place.

It only makes the inevitable action of him pushing you away all the more difficult for both of you. But, alas, it has to be done; he simply cannot have a mere mortal such as yourself getting in the way of his grand plans.

So that's how he finds himself holding a teary-eyed you in his strong arms as he attempts to explain his reasonings for ending your relationship without having to give away his true intentions — he knows you could never understand why he has to do what he does.
