Summer Break had just started and Alec initially was quite excited. It was a week in he found he was quite bored, and missed being in school and doing schoolwork. He didn't like it, mind you. But there was a certain... Feeling to it that Alec seeked. He didn't like not needing to do anything, instead of feeling relaxed he just felt.. like something was missing. He couldn't wait for the holiday to end.
What made it even worse, then, was that Alec's parents decided it'd be a good idea to go on holiday in a little Scottish town by the sea called 'Broadchurch'. He'd been there once as a wee lass, but he found he didn't like it there too much. He wasn't very enthusiastic about the whole ordeal.
When they eventually arrived there Alec mostly spent his days wandering about the town aimlessly, going to the beach in the evenings. Unfortunately, being on holiday didn't stop Alec's parents from arguing and Alec, being the type of teen he was decided to go to the beach, like he always used to.
Alec was walking on the sand barefoot, ocassionally bending down to grab a few shells or pebbles, then turning to throw them out into the sea and watching the water splash. He found the sound to be nice, when they hit the water. He let the wind blow his badly-chopped off hair into his face, and he pulled up the sleeves of his T-shirt so they were scrunched up on his shoulders.
He turned, and found a forgotten beach-towel still sitting on the sand a bit further away, thinking he could sit there, he approached. However, what he originally thought to be some sort of second towel perhaps, turned out to be a... Baby. There was a baby lying on the beach towel, hiccuping and making soft sounds.
"What—" Alec murmured, squinting his eyes as he turned his head to find the baby's parents. There was no one else in sight. Had someone abandoned this baby? Alec kneeled down beside it, finding a weird warmth course through him as he saw the baby's red cheeks and red nose from the cold wind. "Hey.." he murmured, a little awkward.
