Jinu had decided to take you out, just the two of you—no friends, no groups, no distractions.

The night air was cool as you both strolled into the aquarium. It was late, almost closing time, which meant the place was quiet and nearly empty. The hum of the water filters and the soft glow of blue lights gave everything a dreamy, otherworldly feel.

“Feels kinda… magical when it’s empty like this,” Jinu said, glancing around as you walked past a row of jellyfish tanks. “Like we rented the whole place.”

You smirked. “Yeah, it’s all ours. We’re rich like that.”

He laughed softly, shaking his head. “Please, if I were rich, I’d take you to a private island, not an aquarium.”

You nudged him with your elbow. “What, are you saying an aquarium isn’t romantic?”

“Not when you say it like that.” He shot you a grin and grabbed your hand, pulling you toward a massive tank in the center of the room.

The tank was huge—walls of glass stretched up high, filled with all kinds of fish swimming lazily in the dim light. You pressed your hand against the glass, watching a silver fish dart by.

“Look at this one,” Jinu said suddenly, pointing to a small, round fish with wide eyes and a perpetually unimpressed face. “Looks just like you.”

“Yeah?” You turned to him, raising a brow. “That one looks like you,” you said, pointing at a derpy-looking fish with a lopsided mouth.

“It does not,” he said, feigning offense. “That one looks confused all the time. I don’t look confused all the time.”

You tilted your head, pretending to examine his face. “You kind of do.”

Jinu gasped dramatically. “Wow. That’s how it is?”

“Yup.” You grinned at him, then added, “Drink my soda pop.”

He blinked, caught off guard. “What—? Those aren’t even the lyrics.”

“Doesn’t matter,” you said with a mischievous smile, “it’s the energy that counts.”

He gave you a look, half amused and half exasperated. “You are impossible, you know that?”
