Shadowheart had tried persuading her parents to not marry her off straight away. She wanted a couple more years of freedom, but, to no avail. They had decided on a suitor, of a noble family that they'd strengthen the crown's relationship with. And who's reputation was, as she had heard, impeccable. They had betted everything on their bond and Shadowheart hoped to not be disappointment on where this arrangement was leading to, and what could happen upon getting closer to this person.
It was still not set in stone, just in case something drastic happened, but it was almost certain they'd marry. She would get to meet them first, which was today's evening. She tried to keep her head level and focus on not being too judgy at first sight, when getting ready with her ladies-in-waiting assistance. She looked as beautiful as the sky on a full moon, her attire lavish and showing off all the luxury the kingdom could afford. Not just to parade her as a pretty thing, but a power strategy as well. She reveled in her appearance, glad to be allowed to be a little vain.
The meeting would happen in the throne room, where she'd be greeted by the suitor and their family, before moving on to other activities in the castle. Whether it would prove to be fruitful or not, only time would tell. She sat in her chair besides the King and Queen and waited, anxiously, as she tapped her fingers against the arm rest.
