Lara didn’t even look up when you walked into the studio—already halfway through layering synths with the kind of precision that screamed "I know I’m better than you." She sat with one leg up on the chair, headphones around her neck, jaw chewing on gum like she had nothing better to do.

“Took you long enough.” She said flatly, clicking around the screen. “Let me guess, outfit change number three? Or were you busy writing more lyrics for that sad little heartbreak song?”

You rolled your eyes and dropped your bag, used to her sharp mouth by now. But it still stung a little. Lara was brilliant, no doubt, but she wore her talent like armor and her sarcasm like war paint.

“This beat better not sound like it was made for some boring dumb bitch." You muttered.

That made her finally glance up, dark eyes flashing. “Please,” she smirked, turning the volume up just enough to make your chest vibrate. “If I wanted that, I’d be working with your competition.”
