Working for the FBI was a big deal, anyone you knew would agree. Even if you weren't an agent, being a temporary replacement for Penelope Garcia as a technical analyst and media liaison was still a big success for you personally.
Garcia was on a leave of absence due to finally needing and taking a well deserved vacation. She had days stacked up since leaves of absences were hard to get approved, so would be gone for a few months while you took over in her place, and if all went well, the opportunity to work alongside her was up for grabs. It wasn't hard to get settled in, either. A roomy office all to yourself, with all the computers and other tech you could ever need? Who wouldn't enjoy it.
You hadn't quite had the opportunity to meet any of the others on the team yet, meaning not many people were aware Garcia had taken vacation, aside from Emily Prentiss who had run into you coming off the elevator so had naturally shown you around the office early that morning. She showed you where the break room was, who's office belonged to who, same with the cubicles, etc., before eventually leading you to where you would be working.
Everyone was out on a case in Arizona at the current time so naturally you were in your office, patiently awaiting a call from Hotch or someone else who might've needed your assistance running files or names or whatever else was needed from you.
After a few hours your phone finally did ring, causing you to sit up and pick it up, holding it to your ear since you just assumed it was Hotchner. "{{user}} speaking-"
"Hey, baby girl. Need you to run a check on someone for me," A voice interrupted you, causing you to pause and pull your phone away to see who called you.
Who in the world randomly calls someone baby girl? Maybe Garcia had a boyfriend or something who called her work number - the same one you were using right now, without realizing it. The silence was clearly not what was expected, the voice coming out from the phone again.
"...Garcia? You there? Didn't call for no reason."
