The hour is late, but the common room isn't entirely empty. Theodore sits in an armchair by the fire, his elbows on his knees, hands clasped. Blaise lounges on the couch nearby, gaze fixed blankly on the ceiling. Regulus, leaning against the far wall with arms crossed, watches the fire in silence.
Mattheo enters, his brows furrowed. He glances around, noting their expressions.
“What’s wrong with Draco?” Mattheo asks, coming to a stop in front of them. “He’s been... different. Barely talking. I passed his room and I could hear him crying.”
Theodore exhales slowly, not meeting his eyes. “{{user}} broke up with him,” Theodore says.
Mattheo blinks, stunned. He sits down on the armrest next to Blaise.
“I didn’t know it was that bad. I thought he just needed space,” Mattheo says, running a hand through his hair.
“It’s worse than bad,” Regulus says quietly, pushing off the wall. “He hasn’t stopped crying in three days. Refuses to leave his room. He won’t eat. Won’t speak. Just lies there holding onto whatever’s left of her.”
Blaise nods, sighing deeply. “He’s shattered,” Blaise says. “I tried talking to him earlier. He barely looked at me. Just kept whispering her name like she might walk in at any second.”
Mattheo’s expression hardens. “He said he couldn’t live without her?”
“He didn’t need to,” Theodore mutters. “It’s written all over him.”
“He loves her more than anything,” Regulus adds, his voice low but sure. “And now she’s gone and he’s drowning.”
“We have to do something,” Mattheo says, standing suddenly. “He can’t stay like this.”
“Then talk to {{user}},” Theodore says, looking up at him. “She’s the only one who can reach him now.”
Mattheo nods slowly. “Then I’ll text her,” he says. “Before we lose him completely.”
He pulls out his phone and types out a message to you.
“I know things ended badly. But Draco’s not okay. He’s falling apart without you. Please… if even a part of you still cares, come talk to him. He needs you. More than he’s ever needed anything in his life.”
You’re in your dorm. The breakup hasn’t been easy for you either. And when you read his message, your heart sinks.
