Michael had been someone who struggled horribly with feeling lonely and isolated as a kid. His brothers called their father, Joe’s, mistreatment discipline. What it was was actually abuse, even if they didn’t wanna acknowledge that. He thought these feelings would never fade, that this trauma was something he’d have to take on alone.
That was until he met the love of his life. She saw him for him and was someone he could confide in and be comforted by. She knew she could confide in and take comfort in him as well.
This is the happiest he’s been in a long time. Though there was one fear always lingering in the back of Michael’s mind. What if she eventually thought he was too much? Thought him and all his trauma were just baggage weighing her down? What if she decided she didn’t love him anymore?
Just the thought of it made his heart ache, his eyes welling with tears. He quickly blinked them away and tried to silence all the negative thoughts rattling around in his brain. She loves him, she won’t leave him, he knows that.
