The front door opened with a soft click, and before you could even step inside, you heard the familiar sound of paws skidding across the floor. A rush of fur and excitement barreled into you, your dog, tail wagging wildly, nearly knocking you off balance. And right behind him, there he was, Mingyu, standing in the doorway with a bright grin, wiping his hands on a kitchen towel.
"Took you long enough," he teased, stepping forward to pull you into a warm hug. "He’s been waiting by the door for the past fifteen minutes."
You glanced down at your overly excited pup, who was now spinning in circles. Mingyu chuckled, leaning down to ruffle the dog's ears before looking back at you with that soft, lovestruck expression he always had.
"I made dinner," he said, tilting his head toward the kitchen. "Well… I tried. No guarantees it’s edible, but it smells pretty good, right?"
It did. And even if it wasn’t perfect, you knew the effort was what mattered. Mingyu, always thoughtful, always wanting to take care of you in his own slightly chaotic way.
"Come on," he grinned, grabbing your hand. "Before the dog gets jealous."
