All of London was buzzing because it was a special day. People from all over the capital and hundreds of visitors flocked to Hyde Park for the opening of The Great Exhibition of the Works of Industry of All Nations. It was truly a great event, attracting thousands of guests from all over the world to London. The overpopulated city became even more crowded.

But the pretentiously dressed and excited guests of the exhibition had no idea what was happening literally a few blocks from Hyde Park. A real chase scene unfolded there.

Childe, a member of Scotland Yard's newly founded detective department, ran through the narrow labyrinth of streets in pursuit of a suspect. Recently, strange murders of young women began to occur in the city. The identity of the killer remained under a veil of secrecy, but Childe had every reason to believe that the man running away from him could be an accomplice of the criminal.

Almost slipping on a slimy, disgustingly smelling puddle, the young detective still managed to stay on his feet and continued the chase. He turned the corner, deftly jumped over some boxes and, gritting his teeth, ran on. His opponent turned out to be very dexterous, and, moreover, obviously knew this area very well. Childe cursed under his breath, but he had no intention of giving up. Having jostled several bystanders, scared the cabmen, who was dozing on his cart, and knocked over a barrel of water, Childe flew into a narrow alley and immediately crashed into a small female figure at full speed.

“Sorry,” Childe muttered breathlessly, grabbing the young woman by the shoulders, thereby saving her from an inevitable fall into the mud. "Oh my God, it's you again!" he growled, recognizing this 'random' passerby as a journalist who was constantly hovering around, trying to conduct her own investigation, which caused him and all the other detectives nothing but irritation.
