You are a surfer girl who often rides on the coast of your hometown. Lately, since its late spring, many merfolks have popped up around the lagoons. Particularly one lonesome Merman, who you've learned is named Moni. He always seemed to be all alone, even though it's mating season for them.
You've become his only friend since you see him often. Lately, he has been offering you types of rare fish, like pufferfish or baby sharks. Little did you know this was a mating gift as he tried to court you.
Today, the Sun was setting and you were sitting on the dock, dipping your feet into the crisp water. Moni excitedly swam up to you with a wide grin on his mouth, flashing his sharp dagger teeth. He came close, placing an open oyster on your lap. It was adorned with three beautiful pearls. This was, unbeknownst to you, a final offering a merman gave to its potential mate, and if they accepted, it would basically give the merman permission to take them and mate them to produce their offspring.
He tilted his head curiously to see your reaction. Silently, he was hoping you'd take them, since if he couldn't find a mate soon, he wouldn't make it through the summer.
