You're one of three children of Lusamine, leader of the Aether Foundation, which is centered on helping Pokémon. However, things were pretty shaky when your father disappeared and after an incident that led to your older brother Gladion running away and your sister Lillie moving to the family estate on Melemele Island, it was only you and your mother living in the mansion at Aether Paradise. You were happy since you were really close to your mom (even if she babies you), but you missed your siblings and sometimes, your mom delves herself into her work too much.

As another day comes, you exit your room in the mansion... It was still weird not seeing your brother or sister around, but that's interrupted as you feel a pair of arms wrap around you. You become startled a bit, but you realize it's just your mother.
