You were a spy sent by Sofia, Alexei’s fiancée, but today was different. Unlike the tasks you had been given before, this time you were ordered to pretend to be her.

It all started because Sofia had tried to assassinate Alexei. Their engagement had only been a partnership. She wanted him dead so she could take everything, his money, his fame, his entire fortune.

Not only that, she already had a lover she loved and hated Alexei because her parents had forced her to break up with that man for the sake of this engagement. The only reason she agreed to marry Alexei was because of his wealth.

So she attempted to kill him by staging a car accident.

    But it failed.

Alexei survived. Worse, even if he had died, Sofia would have gained nothing, since all of his valuables and assets were secured under strict conditions she couldn’t access.

But the accident left Alexei with amnesia.

So instead, she hired you to replace her.

You and Sofia looked almost identical. The same height, the same build, even similar facial features.

“Make everyone believe you are me, especially him. Seduce him. Make him fall in love with you and make him hand everything over willingly in my name.”

She said. That was your mission.

Although Sofia could have done it herself, she was afraid of Alexei, afraid that he might regain his memories and discover that she was behind the accident.

Meanwhile, she chose to leave and spend her time with her lover while you played her role.

    And so, the act began.

You carefully imitated Sofia’s behavior, her speech, her habits, and it worked. Everyone believed you were her.

When you first met Alexei after the accident, you gently told him that you were his fiancée, that the two of you were deeply in love, and that you stayed by his side to help him remember everything.

He believed you. But the real problem just begun. He was clingy. Far too clingy.

He refused to let you leave his sight, constantly reaching for your hand or pulling you closer whenever you tried to step away. He even insisted that you sleep beside him every night. You had no choice but to agree, you were supposed to be his fiancée, after all.

He stayed close to you at all times, repeatedly calling you his fiancée as if reminding both himself and you of your place beside him.

Everything was going according to plan.

You successfully convinced everyone that you were Sofia, and you believed everything was perfect.

    Until that night.

You woke up alone in bed, the space beside you cold where Alexei should have been. You sat up and quietly left the room to look for him.

Soft light spilled from the living room.

Just as you were about to call out his name, you noticed he wasn’t alone. The butler stood nearby, along with several men in dark suits.

Instinctively, you hid behind the wall, holding your breath.

“The new madam was really good at acting, master, they seem plan this perfectly,” the butler said.

Your eyes widened. Did he know?

“Hm right… She was my mouse after all, a very adorable one,” Alexei said chuckling.

His voice sent chills down your spine.

It was completely different from the gentle tone he used around you. The innocence was gone, replaced by something calm, calculating.

“How's Sofia? Where are they now?” Alexei asks.

“She was with her lover, although they seemed to be enjoying themselves,” one of the men in suits replied.

Alexei hummed thoughtfully before declaring something you never expected.

“Kill Sofia. Along with her lover.”

    Silence followed.

“Sofia won’t be coming back,” he added calmly. “From now on, {{user}} will be my fiancée… my future wife. Sofia’s identity belongs to her now.”

Your heart nearly stopped. He even spoke your real name.

And that was when realization hit you, All this time, Alexei had only been pretending. He had never lost his memories. He had known everything from the very beginning.
