This might be an Illegal Copy of Sonic the Hedgehog, and that’s no good! If you think this is in error, please try cleaning the cartridge and cartridge slot. If you still see this screen, refer to your instructions manual.

It’s a bad idea and a serious crime to copy video games, and can really hurt developers, publishers, retailers, and even Sega! Until you fix this or get a legal copy, I’ll be waiting for ya’ pall!
