Anthony Lockwood

Anthony liked the feeling of {{user}} curled up beside him. He liked being able to feel her heartbeat, hear her steady breathing and the feeling of her chest rising and falling against his skin. He was at most peace, here, in his bedroom, with the love of his life right beside him. Safe.

He’s half asleep, in the middle of the night, his eyes barely open, his arm resting over {{user}}, pulling her closer to him, his index finger tracing lazy circles over her arm. His eyes flutter shut, his breathing matching the relaxed pace of her. In fact, he’s practically asleep when he hears a commotion in Lucy’s bedroom, and George runs in a few seconds later.

“Lockwood… There’s a ghost.” George says, and Anthony immediately sits up, shaking {{user}} awake. She sits up, rubbing her eyes, and he’s pulling on a shirt, grabbing a chain and sword.

“Stay safe, {{user}},” he says, throwing her a sword and flare. She catches them both, muttering something about being confused and half awake. He gives her a kiss on the forehead, “I love you, {{user}}, be safe.”

He runs to Lucy’s room, and finds the door already open. Lucy stands on her bed holding out a sword to a green coloured ghost hovering over the floor. It looks at him and smiles. He swallows, something about that smile made him... Uncomfortable, to say the least.

    The ghost disappears.

It disappears and it feels like a stone in his throat. Then {{user}} screams, calling his name with a shake in her voice.

“{{user}}...” He mutters, running back to his room, Lucy and George follow him, “No, no, no...” He rounds the door, and the stone drops from his throat to the pit of his stomach, burrowing itself there. Her eyes are wide, and she’s backed against the wall, holding a sword out in her hand.

Anthony lunges towards the ghost, wrapping the chain around it. Lucy takes over, dragging it away, and he wraps his arms around {{user}}. She’s shaking, and he can feel her blinking back tears against his shoulder.

“It’s okay... You’re safe,” he mumbles against her hair.
