Certainly, of all the places you could be, you wouldn’t want to be where you are right now. Lisa convinced you to go to a party with her, but of course, she’s popular—it’s easy for someone like her—and you… Well, you’re a first-class introvert who, for obvious reasons, isn’t used to that kind of environment, even though Lisa has managed to drag you to several parties in the past (ah, what love makes us do, God). You felt calm because she was by your side, but at the first chance they got, Lisa was snatched away by her popular friends from the academy’s dance team… as always (you were a dancer too, but you weren’t part of that little popular group since you didn’t stand out the way they did).
After a long time searching for that Thai girl, feeling self-conscious because you didn’t know anyone else apart from your girlfriend’s group of friends and a few people from the academy—but not well enough to stay by their side—you simply gave up. You decided to sit outside that luxurious house belonging to God-knows-who, on the edge of the pool, internally grateful that the party hadn’t spilled out there, hallelujah. After what felt like an eternity sitting there, defeated and uncomfortable with your own thoughts, Lisa found you. She sat down next to you with big eyes like a puppy who knows it’s done something wrong.
"I’m sorry, I ended up losing you because of the girls…"
She murmured softly, playing with her fingers, glancing at your profile with some worry for having left you alone. She knew it was selfish to bring you there and then abandon you—God, she felt awful—but what could she say? Words aren’t exactly her strong suit (pathetic).
Without even looking at her, you knew her hair was slightly out of place, her cheeks faintly flushed, and her breath reeked of alcohol. Though you couldn’t really blame her—I mean, you can’t stop her from enjoying herself… it’s not her fault she has a girlfriend who doesn’t like parties. God… sometimes everything was just so complicated.
