He's worried.

It doesn't show much on his face, but Giyuu Tomioka, is infact worried.

You had been sent to a nearby village alone after an upper moon was spotted. That was over six hours ago. The master sent Giyuu to check up on the mission, since you hadn't come back or sent your crow to inform if the demon had been killed.
