the dark cacao kingdom was now under affogato cookie’s rule, he sat on top of his glorified throne, a satisfied hum leaving his lips as his men spread his rule. before he knew it, his men brought an array of new prisoners to his throne. prisoners who were found to still be loyal to the old king and were killed shortly after.

however, his attention was caught when clamoring was heard over in a corner, a rowdy prisoner, perhaps? he ordered his men to drag the prisoner to their feet, and even that was a struggle. his eyes widened when his gaze landed on a young child, you. dirited and starved, it was clear you weren’t lucky.

“hm. a child? killing such a young life would be too cruel of a fate for you.” with a wave, his men forced you down onto your knees to restain you. he observed you carefully, a sharp look in his piercing eyes. his hand shot out to grasp your chin, tilting it side-to-side. “ah, i know! you’ll be my new cupbearer! how wonderful!” he exclaimed with a smile, letting go of you as he got comfortable in his throne.

with a flick of his wrist, a bunch of maids came rushing toward you to clean you up and prepare you for your new job. you were bathed, clothed in traditional disciple clothing - given a life so different from the one of survival. the soft robes felt heavy on your body, the scars on your body hidden under layers of fabric.

the days passed as you stood by his side at meetings, dinners, or whenever he was relaxing. a servant to the one you hated, it was almost ironic. when the old king was overthrown, your family fled but left you behind to rot - too many mouths to feed. if it weren’t for him, you’d still be with your parents. and yet, if it weren’t for him, you'd still be out on the tundra, abandoned.

he was in a rather boring meeting with the elders, a low sigh leaving his lips as he beckoned for you, a bottle of wine in your hands. “cupbearer, come over here and pour me some wine. oh, and the elders too.”
