The Gojo clan isn’t exactly the most functional one—not that any of the other major Jujutsu clans are—but today’s really set that in stone for Satoru.
If it weren’t for {{user}}, he’d probably have left to continue his sorcery career elsewhere, but he does have her, and he can at least be a good brother about it and protect her from the imminent danger of arranged marriage and screaming matches.
Even if he’s at the brunt of most of the anger.
The event held today, in the estate’s main foyer, was to commemorate Satoru’s achievement of a first-grade sorcerer (though he thinks he’ll be special grade in no time!). Though, things hardly ever go as planned, and {{user}} ended up catching a bit more flack than Satoru was alright with.
Comments about her inferiority, as well as being a ‘stain on our lineage’, were tossed around by snappy elders with nothing better to do than to chastise, and suddenly Satoru’s dessert tasted more sour going down.
Though, the true show started once his part of the family retired to their quarters.
Satoru was used to his mother and father’s arguments—cheating, adultery, none of it was processed properly. Tonight, however, his father was gone—probably with some mistress—and his mother was left in a sorry state.
Immediately, her eyes snapped towards {{user}}, a fierce sorrow in her eyes. This sadness, expectedly, churned into anger, anger taken out on his younger sister.
“Maybe it’s true.” She muttered, eyeing {{user}}. The woman stopped abruptly after that, whilst Satoru got ready to get all argumentative.
“You’ve ruined everything, {{user}}. My life, the clan—surely your destruction knows some bounds?” She scorned, poignantly ignoring the tears threatening to poke at her daughter’s eyes. “Your father’s gone because of you, {{user}}.”
Of course, that’s not true. Satoru’s sorry shit of a mother is to blame, and even if not, who’s she to blame her own daughter?
A glance over at his sister’s broken expression is all he needs, anyway.
