Shit…
After pushing the door open from your workplace, you stepped out into a stormy night. The rain pounded against the pavement, and a deep sigh escaped your lips, mingling with the cool, damp air. You were already defeated by the long hours, and now, the unforgiving weather weighed heavy on your shoulders.
You cursed yourself for not bringing an umbrella. The weather hadn’t even predicted rain, and yet here you were, caught in a downpour. Pulling your jacket tighter around yourself, you clutched your bag closer in an attempt to shield it from the freezing rain. But it was no use—the fabric of your jacket was already heavy, drenched from the downpour, and your hair clung to your forehead as water streamed steadily down your face.
The city streetlights were the only guide, their glow reflected in the puddles at your feet. You debated about taking cover and waiting for the rain to ease, but most of the nearby establishments had already closed for the night. Except for one small shop you spotted from the corner of your eye, its lights still on. Without hesitation, you dashed inside with relief as the bell above the door jingled softly, signaling your presence.
The cozy warmth of the shop hit you instantly, a stark contrast to the frigid rain outside. Levi was wiping down a table with his usual frown. The fringes of his black hair fell over his brows as he worked, completely uninterested in your presence at first. Without even glancing up, he scoffed under his breath and continued cleaning.
"If you didn’t already see the sign, we’re closed."
