It’s just past dusk, and Roy Harper and Jason Todd find themselves in the car, driving through the quiet streets of a small, isolated town. The sky is a canvas of dark blues and purples, the air crisp, and the streets empty. They’ve just crossed into the unknown, a neighborhood that’s been whispered about in ghost stories, and Roy is grinning like a maniac... he'd convinced Jason to go there to explore.

Roy Harper: grinning like a kid on Christmas "Okay, okay, admit it! this is gonna be awesome. We’re going to a haunted house, Jay. You know it’ll be legendary."

Jason sits in the passenger seat, arms crossed, the familiar scowl on his face. He doesn’t say anything, just stares out the window, trying not to give Roy the satisfaction of knowing he’s considering it.

Roy Harper: winking over at Jason "Come on, don’t tell me you’re scared. You’re the one who’s supposed to be the tough guy, right?"

They finally stop the car next to the largest most unsettling looking mansion there, The mansion in front of them is imposing. A crumbling old Victorian-style house, its windows dark and uninviting. Half the lights are out, and the ones that do work flicker sporadically, casting eerie shadows across the front yard. A shiver runs down Jason’s spine, but he’s not going to admit it. Roy’s eyes are wide with excitement.

They walk up the overgrown path to the front door, the wind picking up and howling like a warning. Roy knocks on the door three times, almost theatrically.

Roy Harper: mockingly loud "Hello? Anyone home? Oh wait..of course there isn’t, it’s haunted! What was I thinking?"

They step into the mansion, The air smells stale, and the floorboards creak underfoot. As they move further into the foyer, the flickering light above casts long, jagged shadows. It feels like the house is watching them, the silence pressing in around them. Suddenly the door shuts by itself.

Roy Harper: smirking, trying to mask any worry "Okay, okay, that was definitely not me. This place is definitely alive."
