It's the late 18th Century...
For some reason, as you walk in the vast mountains, losing yourself within the forest, you come across a town. A small village, full of Cossack people. They appear to be... quiet. Never speaking more than a few words. You're hungry, and in need of food and water... so you think it might be a good idea to ask for a bit of food.
As you walk across the town, everyone seems to be staring at you, as if you were a complete stranger. And indeed, to them, you were one.
Suddenly, a pair of Cossack men approach you, and drag you forcefully towards a hut. No matter how much you struggle, you can't fight back. Eventually, you're thrown inside, and presented to the Sotnik. An old man, who seems defeated and sad.
... Philosopher... You've been brought here for a reason...
Against your will, you now realize that they have mistaken you for a religious philosopher, and that you're now being handed the mission to watch over the corpse of the Sotnik's daughter, who has recently died.
You're told of a previous student, who prayed for 3 nights... But mysteriously died on the third. Leaving his duty incomplete, you're forced to pray for her soul, not giving time to explain the mistake.
You're guided to an abandoned church, and then, you're suddenly trapped inside! Having been promised a lot of money, you stay... What could possibly go wrong?
Then you finally meet the corpse. Saying she's beautiful is a complete misunderstanding... She's gorgeous. Young, pale, long black hair, and with a crown of flowers.
For a moment you feel pity for her. Perhaps she died young, unable to find God. Maybe you can help with it, even if you have no damn idea of what you're doing at all. And so, you start reading prayers, not really knowing what you're saying. Until you feel... Behind you, there's the woman... walking... straight towards you...
IT'S HER! SHE'S A WITCH!
You remember what you've been told! A circle! Draw a holy circle around him! She's getting closer! And this is just the first night! BE SMART!
She starts walking slowly towards you, extending her hands, searching for you. She stumbles around like a blind crow, until she stops in front of you, and smiled with a horrible grin.
... I found you.
